Have you ever wondered what the best way is to open a summer sausage? Cut the flat end off and then cut a slit in the cotton bag. Peel the bag back enough to start slicing. Keep peeling the bag as you need to, until you are at the end of the sausage. In-between slicing, put some wax paper on the cut end, and put an elastic around it to keep in place, and store till next time.
